JACKTOOLS.NET / USAGE NOTES
Usage notes
These notes explain how to use our clock and its technical limitations. They do not contain a blanket exclusion of liability or restrict statutory rights.
Free, with no account needed
You can use the clock free of charge without a user account. Support through Buy Me a Coffee is voluntary and is not required to use the clock.
Keeping track of everyday time
Our clock displays the time and date in several views. It is intended for everyday reference, not medical applications, emergencies or safety-critical timing. Use appropriate, reliable devices or systems for those purposes.
Technical limitations
The clock runs in your browser and uses your device time. It does not query an external time service and is not an independently synchronised atomic clock. Its accuracy therefore depends on your device clock. If the time is incorrect, check your device date and time settings.
The displayed time and date follow the selected time zone, with your device time zone used by default. Daylight saving changes and regional formatting rely on your browser’s data. Selecting another zone changes the display, not your device’s system time.
Sleep mode, power-saving features and background-tab restrictions can delay or interrupt updates and animations. When you return to the page or reload it, the display updates from the current device time. The clock does not provide alarms or reminders.
Focus view also works without browser fullscreen. Fullscreen and “Keep screen awake” are available only where your browser and device allow them. Keeping the screen awake may be revoked, especially in power-saving mode or when the page moves to the background. It does not prevent manual screen locking. Keeping the display on may increase energy consumption.
Settings stay in your browser
Clock and display preferences are saved persistently only if you enable “Remember settings on this device” and your browser allows it. They are not synchronised between devices. Clearing browser data or using private browsing may cause them to be lost. You can delete saved preferences under “Local settings”.
